PRESS: Association asks govt to cap diesel fuel sales to foreigners

MOSCOW, Jul 11 (PRIME) -- The Russian association of trucking has suggested Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin limit sales of diesel fuel to foreigners to 50 liters and to charge the European prices for the purchases above that, newspaper Izvestiya reported on Monday, citing a letter.

"As retaliation to the violation of agreements on cargo transit to Kaliningrad by Lithuania and the E.U., the business has suggeted introduction of a limit on diesel fuel purchases for European transport companies at 50 liters," the letter read.

The association said that the European freight operators sometimes buy 1,000 liters of fuel in Russia, where the price amounts to about 54 rubles per liter against more than 130 rubles in Europe. According to the association, the authors of the letter are aware of the difficulty of implementation of the restriction.
